The Right Metrics for SaaS Company Success
A few months ago I wrote about the importance of analytics to SaaS success. This was highlighted in a salesforce.com whitepaper called 7 Habits of Highly Successful On-Demand Companies. Yesterday Sandhill.com published a fantastic article called Bessemer’s Top 10 Laws for Being “SaaSy”.
Once again access to the the right metrics tops the list:
“1) Your key business metrics are: CMRR (Contracted Monthly Recurring Revenue) and Cash - “Bookings” is for suckers.”
If you’re a SaaS company (or want to become one) definitely take a few minutes to read this article. It includes excellent best-practice advice that has generated some great feedback and debate from Sandhill.com readers. And if you found the article useful, you might also be interested in Ken Rudin’s 5 A’s of SaaS Marketing or in the recorded Death of the Software Suite? webinar.
