Shine A Light On Your Salesforce.com Data

LucidEra FlashlightAnother insightful post from Nate Bride:

Mom is always right!

I spoke with my Mom this weekend (Hi Mom!). She recently visited the San Francisco Bay area from her home in Boston. Since I had recently joined LucidEra, I had to give her our latest give-aways. LucidEra created mini flashlights that fit on your key chain.

She loves it – it helps her see parking meters (or more specifically what is the minimum amount of money she needs to add to the parking meter to avoid a costly parking ticket.)

She asked me, “Why the light for LucidEra?” A very relevant question and a question that I usually answer with “I don’t know…marketing created these things so I am giving them out.”

For the first time in my career, I could give a clear and relevant answer. “Mom at LucidEra, we help illuminate what is already there – just like a flashlight”  Well, on Saturday night, I decided to set-up my salesforce.com dashboards. I added the reports and then created the dashboard. I looked at my work. Yes, these were pretty dashboards. But I could not wait to put my LucidEra flashlight on the dashboards. Why? I needed to illuminate all this sales data into something that was relevant and actionable. For example, I have a nice pretty gauge to tell me how I am doing against my revenue target for the year. I also created a gauge for the entire sales team. I am looking at these dashboards and I am thinking – what do they tell me? I click on the report and I am almost as frustrated. I need my analytical flashlight. Now!

So, my Mom uses her flashlight to be more effective in her day to day tasks. LucidEra illuminates the most important part of your business – how you are generating revenue!  I think that we could all use more light and more analysis to constantly figure out how to generate more money. Are the answers right in front of you? Yes, but the parking meter was also right in front of my Mom. With LucidEra, she got the right answer quickly. We can do the same for you. And, I need to give my hats off to marketing for creating a relevant gift to our prospects.
